Becky is very friendly and professional in her approach to her work. She always checks with you about the pressure and found some knots of mine that really needed sorting out so guided me through some breathing techniques as she worked through them and now they are gone I feel like I'm floating on air. Highly recommended.

After a long search for a good Massage Therapist in the area, so happy to have found Rebecca. She is very knowledgeable of the human anatomy, massage techniques, and really cares about helping her clients.

  • How can I book a treatment?
Either on the Thames Massage App or Website, choose a Treatment, select 'Request to Book' and see Booking Calendar for up-to-date available appointments.
  • What's the difference between a Deep-Tissue Massage & a Sports Massage?
Deep-Tissue Massage is primarily soft-tissue manipulation, the massage strokes are usually continuous with the aim of improving blood circulation, easing soft tissue tension, reducing muscular pain and promoting relaxation. Sports Massage is often given the nickname 'no pain no gain' this is not what Sports Massage is all about! Sports Massage is similar to a Deep-Tissue Massage as it's primarily soft-tissue manipulation to ease muscular discomfort and improve ROM. In a Sports Massage treatment I often use Soft Tissue Releases (STRs) & Muscle Energy Techniques (METs) these 2 techniques stretch and release specific areas of muscle tension and work to improve Range of Motion (ROM) of a joint. Often what appears to be muscular pain, is in fact fascia tightness. Fascia is connective tissue, when this connective tissue is tight and dehydrated it can often course pain. To help release the tight fascia I often use myofascial cupping. In both Deep-Tissue Massage & Sports Massage I may use Trigger Point Therapy in order to release stubborn muscular knots, often found between the shoulder-blades and upper portions of the back and neck.
  • I'd like a pregnancy massage, are there any factors I need to consider before booking a massage?
Prenatal Pregnancy Massage is a great treat to help relax & ease soreness and tension as your baby grows. Pregnancy massage can be given anytime from 13 weeks of pregnancy all the way up to due date. Massage consent from a GP or Midwifery might be required if you are experiencing any adverse symptoms during your pregnancy; these will be promoted upon booking. In a pregnancy massage, mum-to-be lies on her side and she is supported with pillows. The massage focuses on promoting good circulation, gently easing muscular discomfort- usually across lower back, increasing flexibility, managing nausea, relieving leg cramps and encouraging relaxation and harmony between mum & baby.
  • I'd like to book Cupping, but I can't see it as a treatment option, how do I book?
Yes Thames Massage offers Myofascial Cupping- it’s brilliant; releases sticky fascia that is often the cause of soft tissue soreness. Cupping is not listed as a stand alone treatment, but I tend to include it in my Sports Massage treatments when I think its necessary and would help. If you are keen to have cupping in your treatment but don't want a Sports Massage treatment - not a problem, please let me know upon requesting a treatment and I'll be sure to have my cups available to use during the treatment.
